I have always been our family’s genealogist. I soon realized that a shoebox full of old photos and memorabilia couldn’t tell the story of a person’s life. I started writing their stories, which led me to create Middle-Grade literature.
My storytelling ability comes from my Dad. His quick wit was always ready, with a story accompanied by a wink. As a child, I was mesmerized by the NASA Apollo program and remember being inspired to study Math and Science. This path led me to earn applied math and computer science degrees and work for a power company, a control room simulator for a nuclear reactor, and an automation system for a plastics production plant.
Once I had children, I worked part-time as an instructor and found my passion for education. I have worked as a college math professor for the past 18 years, and I found that my quick storytelling skills helped me connect my students with real-world math applications. I realized there were other stories I needed to tell, which has set me off to write Middle-Grade Time Travel Novels.
